:: ABOUT ::

guildopenday2

Indie yarn maker & designer Michelle Snowdon concentrates her art practice upon the art & craft of yarn, creating unique threads utilising improvised freeform spinning techniques.

Her handspun yarn designs are made in Limited Editions or Series, and often explore her inner journey story of woman & motherhood.  Michelle dyes & prepares her fibers by hand, inspired by the colours of the inspirational Blue Mountains bushland as her palatte.

Michelle gained a BA(Visual Arts) in 1995 and has studied handspinning with Jenny Dunn of Virginia Farm Woolworks.  Michelle's background in visual arts embellishes her artistic approach to accentuating the unique, ecclectic qualities of her art yarn designs. Michelle instructs creative spinning workshops in Australia and has been selling her yarn & fiber creations on wooldancer.etsy.com since 2006.
